Mark Weber

Completing his BFA degree at the University of Wisconsin at

Eau Claire in 1974, Mark came to St. Louis to attend graduate school at Washington University.  After completing his MFA degree from Washington University he began to exhibit his work regionally and nationally.  He has participated in 26 one person exhibitions as well as 80 group exhibitions.  He is also in numerous museum, public and private collections.

Mark has been an active member of the St. Louis college academic environment for many years.  During his teaching career he has been a faculty member at St. Louis Community College, Maryville University, Webster University and University of Missouri St. Louis.  Mark is currently a Emeritus Professor St. Louis Community College at Wildwood.

Mark’s research in his studio has taken him on numerous creative developments.  These journeys all have a common intent of hopefulness and a renewal of a positive understanding of personal growth.  This stabilizing foundation has encouraged the search of energy as well as a challenging group of imagery weather through landscapes, interior environments or found objects.  His paintings begin with familiar objects but grow into metaphorical images of our shared inner thoughts and feelings.
